2. General Practice

I aim to provide the very highest levels of professional service. I will always treat you with respect, empathy, and care — working in a collaborative partnership to support the changes you seek.

While hypnotherapy and psychotherapy are powerful approaches, your active commitment to the process is essential. This includes:

  • Listening to any provided relaxation recordings between sessions
  • Considering the themes and goals discussed during sessions
  • Being willing to make positive changes in your daily life
  • Completing any agreed actions or practice work

I am a member of the AfSFH, CNHC, NBH, NBfMP and NCH, and adhere to their codes of professional conduct — all publicly available on their respective websites.

3. Medical Disclaimer

Important: I am not medically trained and cannot diagnose medical conditions. Hypnotherapy should not replace mainstream medical treatment. If you have concerns about your health or symptoms, please consult your GP or appropriately qualified medical professional before or alongside your sessions. Where appropriate, I will work alongside your GP or other healthcare professionals — always with your explicit written consent.

4. Session Duration & Punctuality

Standard sessions are up to 60 minutes in duration (50–60 minutes), unless otherwise agreed. This allows time for preparation and confidentiality between appointments.

If you arrive late, your session will still need to conclude at the agreed finish time to respect subsequent bookings. The full session fee will still apply. For online sessions, please ensure you are in a private, quiet space with a stable internet connection at the agreed start time.

5. Payment Terms

Fees are confirmed at the time of booking and published on the Fees page. Payments may be made by cash, card, or bank transfer.

Payment must be completed no later than 48 hours before your scheduled appointment time.

Block booking payments are non-refundable and confirm your commitment to a regular weekly time slot. Concessionary rates (£65/session) apply to military & veterans, blue light/emergency services, teachers & school staff, and under-16s — proof of eligibility may be requested.

6. Cancellation & Non-Attendance Policy

48-Hour Cancellation Notice Required

To cancel or rearrange an appointment without incurring a fee, a minimum of two full working days' written notice is required.

If less than 48 hours' notice is given, or if you fail to attend without notice, the full session fee will be charged.

Block Bookings

When booking a block of sessions, you are committing to a regular weekly time slot. If you fail to attend or give less than 48 hours' notice, that session will not be rescheduled or refunded.

Non-Attendance Without Notice

If you do not attend and do not notify me, the full fee for that missed session becomes payable before any further sessions can be booked.

Exceptional Circumstances

In cases of genuine emergency, illness, or bereavement, please contact me as soon as possible. Each case will be considered with compassion and flexibility, and a mutually agreeable arrangement may be made at my discretion.

7. Commitment & Expected Outcomes

To see lasting, positive change, regular attendance and genuine engagement are important. The average course of therapy is between 8 and 12 sessions — though this varies by individual and issue. Many specific issues (phobias, habits, confidence) may resolve in fewer sessions.

Results are influenced by the work you do between sessions, including listening to provided recordings and applying agreed strategies in daily life. While hypnotherapy and psychotherapy are highly effective, results cannot be guaranteed — every person and journey is unique.

8. Consent, Confidentiality & Governing Law

By making a booking with Best Mind Therapy, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these terms and give your consent to hypnotherapeutic work being carried out. You may withdraw consent at any time.

Confidentiality is absolute, except where there is a serious risk to your life or the life of another, or where I am required by law to disclose information. I would always aim to discuss this with you first wherever possible. Full details are in the Privacy Policy.

These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales. Any dispute will be dealt with in the first instance through open communication; unresolved matters may be referred to the relevant professional body's complaints procedure (NCH / AfSFH / CNHC) or the Information Commissioner's Office for data matters.

9. Questions?

If anything in these terms is unclear, or you would like further explanation, please do not hesitate to ask — I am happy to discuss anything with you before or during your free initial consultation.
