Call Gary: 07359 071210When Mortality Feels Like Terror
It's natural to think about the future — but when every mention, every news story, every quiet moment brings overwhelming dread, that's necrophobia (also called thanatophobia). It may follow a bereavement, a health scare, a milestone birthday, or arrive without warning. You don't have to "just accept it" — you can find peace with being alive right now.
This is deeply sensitive work. We never debate beliefs, predict the future, or force you to discuss anything distressing. We help your mind feel safe enough to engage with life again — gently, at your pace, with compassion throughout.
Return Your Focus to Living
We don't debate beliefs or predict the future — we help your mind feel safe enough to engage with life again. Gentle reframing. No forced conversations. You set the pace and the boundaries.
Honour the Fear
It's there to protect you — and that care is real. We acknowledge it without being ruled by it. You never have to discuss anything that feels too much.
Reframe the Perspective
Your subconscious learns: life is precious, which means living fully matters now. The future doesn't need to be feared to be respected. Gratitude grows where dread lived.
Anchor in the Present
Peace, gratitude, engagement — these grow in the now. We strengthen your connection to the life you're in today, with a calm anchor you can use whenever dread arises.
Open to the Future
Planning, hoping, committing — these return naturally when dread softens. You reclaim your timeline and the joy of looking forward again.
When Fear Follows a Bereavement
Losing someone you love can leave you acutely aware of loss everywhere — every illness, every older relative, every quiet moment becomes a reminder. This is a normal part of grief, but when it tips into constant dread that stops you living, gentle hypnotherapy can help. We honour your love for the person you lost while gently releasing the constant fear. Grief counselling is always recommended alongside this work if you feel you need it — we work alongside, not instead of, bereavement support.
Your Love Is Honoured
We never suggest you "move on" or "get over it." Your love for the person you lost stays. We simply help the fear soften so you can carry both — love and peace — at the same time.
Time & Gentle Pace
There is no timeline for grief. We work at your pace — some weeks you may want to talk, some weeks you may not. That's always okay. The work is gentle and never rushed.
Support Around You
We can work alongside your GP, a bereavement counsellor, or Cruse Bereavement Support. Hypnotherapy addresses the fear response — it doesn't replace the human support you may also need. We'll signpost you honestly.

What Clients Say
"After my mum died I became terrified of everything — every headache, every news story. I couldn't plan anything. Gary never once pushed me to talk about it in a way that hurt. After four sessions I booked a holiday with my kids. I hadn't done that in two years. I still miss my mum every day, but the dread has gone."
"I'd lie awake at night terrified. I couldn't even say the word out loud. Gary was so gentle — he let me set the pace entirely. After three sessions I slept through the night for the first time in over a year. I can't explain the relief. I finally feel like I'm living again, not just waiting."
"My 60th birthday triggered something — I became obsessed with illness and losing my husband. My GP said it was anxiety and suggested hypnotherapy. Gary helped me find peace with where I am in life. I've taken up painting again and joined a walking group. My husband says he's got his wife back. Thank you, Gary."
